There is a second opportunity for young leaders to be involved in a Blueprint Ministries Camp Leadership Training Day. The first training day on 16 March was attended by 30 participants, who will all participate in Blueprint Ministries camps. This opportunity is also open to young people other than those currently involved in camping ministry who want to build their leadership skills (for example, junior leaders, people who assist with youth groups, kid’s clubs, or other congregational/church groups requiring leadership).
Nuriootpa (St Petri), Sunday 4 August, 2 pm
The SA–NT District will be hosting several conversation meetings designed to explore with others what the Way Forward might mean for you and your congregation and to pray and worship together as we prepare our hearts and minds for General Synod and the way forward for our church. Plan to attend a gathering near you:
AVAILABLE THROUGH LCA INTERNATIONAL MISSION
Currently, there are two pressing volunteer needs: Online English teaching support for the Lutheran Church in Cambodia (LCC). Although the LCC English teachers are enthusiastic and invested in this ministry, most do not have teaching degrees and have requested mentorship as they serve. We will therefore be running a 10-week online English program, for one hour every Saturday, beginning on 13 April. Volunteers will be supplied with the curriculum used by LCC English teachers and will offer advice on how to improve the methodology and implement new methods if necessary to improve teacher quality and student learning outcomes. Library support for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea (ELC-PNG). ELC-PNG seminary libraries are seeking the assistance of volunteers with librarian experience to develop and manage a system to file and organise the collection of books located in their libraries. Kathryn Yaxley "Threads of Hope, Knots of Pain", a Journey of Healing. Have you wondered what God thinks of your suffering? Would you dare to ask the Almighty, then wait and listen for His response? In her quest for answers, Kathryn weaves her story of debilitating illness, grief, and a fresh start experienced as a young adult. She invites us into the heart of her healing conversations with God. Her testimony toward freedom and hope offers light and encouragement for others.
In Australia one in six females aged 15 or over has experienced violence from a partner or former partner. For males, it's one in 20. On average, one woman a week is killed by a partner or former partner. Domestic and family violence is happening within our church. Maybe it's right here among us, in this congregation.
