The Hugamug Club - Andy Thurlow $20.00
BOM says we are in for a cold and wet week. So you might like to sit by a fire and read the life stories of 5 local ministers - Amel (Manyon), Brian (Schwarz), Len (Gerschwitz), Jim (Bryan) and Rob (Voigt) in a new book out called ‘The Hugamug Club’. Amel is the Uniting minister in the Barossa - the first Sudanese woman to be ordained in the Uniting Church in Australia. An amazing story!

Why do we have to implement the LCA Child Safety Standards for Congregations?
- When we care for children and keep them safe, we are following Christ’s mandate.
- We have a synodical responsibility to protect and care for our children. We also have multiple legal responsibilities relating to child safety.
- And finally, we have important regulatory responsibilities in relation to compliance with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.

DINNER FOR EIGHT
Dinner for eight is an opportunity for fellowship between the members of our congregations in the intimacy of a meal in a small group.
You can be a single, a couple or a family and you can choose to be either a host or a visitor.
The host provides the venue and decides what type of meal they would like to have. The host then decides how they would like the visitors to help with the meal. This could be something like all bringing a casserole / salad or someone bringing soup and other sweets.
The coordinators collect all the reply slips and meet to place you into groups of approximately eight with the hosts at the top. Each host is notified of the details of the members of their group and then they contact their group members as soon as possible to select a date for their event.
They may choose to meet in the evening or at a lunch time sometime between October and November.
Forms available at the combined service, The Hub or your local church.
