The LCA has developed a new Congregational Review document, to be used annually. This process aims to enable both pastor and congregation to examine their partnership in God’s mission through their congregation. How can God’s people in each particular place answer the question, ‘What is God calling us to do and accomplish in this place?’
In discussion and prayer together, we seek God’s ongoing guidance and strength. In Ephesians, Paul compares the church to how the human body grows. He writes, ‘speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work’ (Ephesians 4:15,16).
To make this happen, God gives his church the gift of pastors, who he calls to equip his people for works of service and become more and more like Christ. This partnership between pastor and people is critical and needs to be nurtured and supported.
I commend this to you, and I look forward to the picture it will paint of God at work through the SA–NT District. To access the information and documents, visit www.lca.org.au/ministry-reviews

District Synod Convention 2025 and Delegate Nominations
We are pleased to announce that the 2025 District Synod Convention will take place at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18.
After exploring various venues, the Convention Centre was selected as the most suitable and cost-effective option. Its central location ensures excellent accessibility, with convenient public transport, ample onsite parking, and nearby accommodation for delegates. The Centre’s purpose-built facilities eliminate the need for additional setup, offering a comfortable and spacious environment for meaningful discussions, gatherings, and worship.
Delegate fees for the 2025 convention are $210 for congregations, $430 for parish delegates, and $195 for pastors, with meal costs unchanged from 2023. Delegates are also invited to join a special “Golden Hour” event on Saturday evening for $20.
Delegate Appointments
As we prepare for the 2025-2026 District Synodical Period, congregations are reminded to elect their delegates by March 1, 2025. Delegates, appointed at a ratio of one per 100 communing members, will represent their congregations at both the 2025 two-day convention and the 2026 one-day convention. Each delegate should hold a current Working with Children clearance and Level 1 Safe Church Training, ensuring readiness for this important governance role.
To nominate your delegate, please complete this form here and submit the LAMP2 form to the District Office. This helps us track attendees and ensures they are included in future convention communications. Invoices for synod fees will be issued in March 2025.
